The Rwanda Coko. This coffee exemplifies the growth and excitement surrounding coffee in Rwanda.
Coko is the name of a small cooperative made up of approximately 500 farmers. This coffee was sourced for Heart Coffee Roasters by Coffee Shrub, a small importer dedicated to sourcing quality coffee using the Direct Trade Model. This coffee is part of the Farm Gate Program which ensures each farmer is paid at least 50%, but often 100%, more than the Fair Trade price.
This coffee jumps out of the cup with aromas of roses and jasmine. As soon as you take your first sip you’ll notice a milk chocolate flavor with a smooth texture and a hint of citrus. As the coffee cools it becomes sweeter and brighter, with notes of bing cherries and citrus zest.
A truly delicious cup, come stop by the café and try it for yourself.
