El Injerto has been one of the most progressive coffee farms in Guatemala for many years and this year’s crop is no different. Since the farm’s inception in 1905 they have been dedicated to quality first and foremost. Today the farm is owned and operated by Arturo Aguirre and his son Arturo Jr. The two of them have stayed true to quality and in this time of global changes also recognize the growing need for sustainability and staying “green”.

The relationship that the Injerto farm has with Stumptown is one of their strongest relationships and longest standing. It was Stumptown’s first Direct Trade and they have remained dedicated to staying involved with the farm’s progress and continued efforts in sustainability and quality, so that each cup year after year is better and better for you.

In this year’s crop of Injerto they split the botanical varietals of the farm with the largest being the bourbon, which is what we are featuring in the café, as well as pulling it for our espresso. This year’s bourbon featured lots of notes of chocolate and dry nuts, such as walnuts, with a smooth floral finish, and a bright citrus note as the bouquet finished the experience on your pallet after you swallow. Definitely a favorite here in the café and you should experience it too. We recommend you come by and order a One&One. Give it a try and have a unique coffee experience.
